Adelaide Festival Centre is South Australia’s principal performing arts venue and presenter of dance, theatre, music and exhibitions. It is a leading Asia Pacific cultural center, producing four international festivals, hosting 1,813 events and attracting more than 980,000 patrons annually. Billed as Australia’s first multi-purpose arts center opening back in 1973—three months before the Sydney Opera House—the Adelaide Festival Centre has long been a major player in the Australian arts scene.
Typically the first and most important contact a patron has with the center is its website, which runs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux software. The recent announcement that Red Hat Enterprise Linux runs on Microsoft Azure was music to the center’s ears. By moving its web servers to the Microsoft Azure cloud, the center can deliver more information to its patrons faster while avoiding costly capital outlay. Now the center is working on deploying Office 365 across its 300 staff.
