Microsoft’s commitment to open source is ingrained in our business. Investments in this space began several years ago and continue to be reinforced through technology decisions, partner momentum, customer adoption, and community contributions.
Last week in Orlando, Microsoft welcomed more than 25,000 people to Microsoft Ignite, where we showcased how we’re infusing cloud, AI and mixed reality across Microsoft’s technologies.
Some of the 3,000 open source contributors from across Microsoft are at OSCON this week, to focus on how the open source ecosystem is playing a major role in technology innovation, from artificial intelligence and IoT to microservices and containers.
In an unprecedented partnership, Microsoft and FOSSASIA (the largest open source technology advocate in Asia) worked together to showcase Microsoft’s commitment towards open source software (OSS) communities through the FOSSASIA Open Tech Summit 2017 event, as well as the satellite community events and influencer engagements.
